I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.

I am Dr Shahzad Naseem. My friends and people, who know me, call me Shaz.

I graduated in 1986 from Punjab University, Pakistan.
I have always been a strong believer in post graduate education and training. Therefore, after practicing general dentistry for 2 years I did my Masters in Oral surgery- Oral medicine from Birmingham University in 1991.

I then went to Saudi Arabia, where I was appointed as a Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral medicine in one of the tertiary hospitals.

I became a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in 1998 (FRACDS) and was appointment “Middle East Liaison Officer” for the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons the same year.

During my years in Saudi Arabia, in addition to holding several key administrative positions within the hospital and the regional health department also had the honour of being the Dentist to the Royal Family.

In 1999, I returned to England and I worked in the maxillo-facial units of Chichester and Northampton hospitals. During this period I passed the IQE (International Qualifying Exam)

In 2001, I was entered onto the list of specialist Surgical Dentists, now known as Specialist Oral Surgeon.

After 16 years, in December 2002, I gave up my hospital based career and decided to go into general dental practice. Between 2003 and 2005 I worked at a number of NHS/Private practices in Northampton, Milton Keynes and London. By the end of 2004 I was ready to turn my dream into reality i.e. to build a state of the art practice, with cutting edge technology and cordial atmosphere which would make the dental experience less stressful and traumatising for all involved.

In June 2005 Dental Works by Shaz and Associates was opened.

In November 2006, the practice was awarded Runner up in the category of Best New Practice in the UK, at a ceremony held at the Café Royal, London, by the prestigious Private Dentistry Awards, out of several high quality and standard practices that put in their submissions for this category. Not only that Dental Works was also one of the six practices shortlisted for the best patient care in the UK and Best Practice South East region in 2006, out of several hundreds.

Since establishing Dental Works, I now spend most of my time doing Cosmetic Dentistry. I have attended several Hands-on courses and seminars on Cosmetic Dentistry and CEREC 3D conducted by globally renowned cosmetic dentists. I am a member of BSCD(British Society of Computerised Dentistry) and full member of BACD (British Association of Cosmetic Dentists).

I live in Milton Keynes with my wife, Ruby, and three lovely children, Fatima, Shahyan and Faizan. I enjoy cooking; especially a good bar-b-q

I enjoy all sorts of sports. My favourite sports are cricket, squash, tennis and badminton. I enjoy watching football with my younger son, Faizan, who is a fervent supporter of Manchester United and playing cricket with my elder son, Shahyan. I play cricket for the Sunday League in Milton Keynes. I am an opening batsman and when needed can bowl medium pace (Shahyan strongly disagrees and put my pace just above a spinner, when he is generous) I hold a batting record; scoring 202 runs not out in summer of 2006. Scuba diving and snorkelling are my other holiday favourites. I am an amateurish photographer as well and like to capture nature on my cameras.

I am extremely fascinated by modern technology/gadgets and Dental Works is a reflection of that as I strongly believe that modern technology used properly increases both patients’ comfort and quality of work.

I welcome you to Dental Works.

If you have received a letter from Dental Works to join our Dental Plan and choose not to do so, please be reassured YOU ARE STILL A VALUED PATIENT AT THE PRACTICE and can be seen on an independent basis, with no further action required.
