Veneers

Get the Flash Player to see this player.

Veneers are a more conservative alternative to crowns as they require less removal of the tooth’s original surface. Thin shells, usually made of porcelain because of its durability and realistic appearance, are custom-made and bonded onto the surface of the teeth to straighten, whiten and align them. There are many different types and shades to choose from and during the initial visit, you and the dentist will discuss all the options available. On your next visit, the dentist will remove a small layer of outer enamel on each tooth being treated and then make a mold, which will be to send off to the dental laboratory and used to produce customised veneers made. On your third and final visit, the new veneers will be applied to the teeth using a bonding material, which dries and hardens once exposed to a special dental light. Veneers can be cared for in exactly the same way as normal teeth and with the proper care should last for several years.

If you have received a letter from Dental Works to join our Dental Plan and choose not to do so, please be reassured YOU ARE STILL A VALUED PATIENT AT THE PRACTICE and can be seen on an independent basis, with no further action required.
